Parallel Dislocation Dynamics Simulations Using LSMLIB

Dislocation dynamics in 3-d is a prototypical codimension-two problem. Our group has implemented such a simulation within a level-set formalism. In order to simulate large problems, it is imperative to extend our implementation to parallel architectures. We have developed a general parallel level set method library to provide the efficiency required to model the evolution of ensembles of many dislocations. We demonstrate the capabilities of our software library on a sample problem of multiple dislocation lines interacting with multiple obstacles.
